Hiya! I'm Melody Lynn Rose Brown, the creator of Popsquish. I'm just an artist that loves to make things and has a wide variety of interests.

After so much trial and error in figuring out what a "brand" means to me, I decided to stop limiting myself to what I think people would like or "what sells". I'm not here to impress anyone, I'm just here to be myself and have a good time. So I decided to just be and do everything that I love!

You'll notice mostly in my characters or art gallery that I don't have one specific theme tied deeply to everything. I chose the rainbow as a front visual representation because it has many colours and infinite possibilities. Music and sound (which also has endless opportunities) is a sub concept to do with my name. This front end base concept of rainbows and melodies simply acts as a space that holds all the different aesthetics, themes, activities, and arts that I love and do. All the Popsquish characters are "melodies" of mine. They are songs I sing every day, and they are alternate versions of me, Melody.

I'm so happy you're here on this creative journey with me, and I can't wait to see what we do next!

Listen to your heart. What does it sound like? Is it a song? A Melody? There are many different types of Melodies. Some are soft and soothing, some are loud and fierce, some are maybe cute or funny, and some sound like a pop and a squish.

Melynn Rose

Melynn Rose, nicknamed Mel or Melynn, is a Dryad loosely based on the mythical creatures of the same name and shapeshifters.

Melynn's true self has no physical or visible form, much like a spirit. The only way she's able to tangibly exist is through the possession of plants. Through them, she is able to manifest a physical body that's an amalgamation of her own expression and the plant she's possessing. For this reason, Melynn's design has changed frequently through the years to match her expression, and will continue to change.

The little Dryad’s favourite things are drawing, gardening, and gaming. Melynn Rose is often the most active of the bunch, as she is the most varied with content relating to anything she's feeling at that moment. Many of her forms will correspond with her current mood and atmosphere.

If you like many different vibes, this is a great character for you to enjoy.

Turtle Shisu

A little Shiba with a bad attitude! Turtle can seem hard to love at a glance, but if you stick around you'll see he has plenty to give.

Turtle ran away from home at a young age and spent that time moving from place to place or living outside. For this reason he's wary of strangers and has a difficult time assigning trust. You'll catch him lying or stealing if it seems like the easier solution to him.

Although he still has a lot of growing to do, in recent years he's found what he hopes to be a forever home. Currently he resides with the mysterious Doberman, Dominic Wolfe, who has taken care of him and shown him what it means to love somebody.

Turtle’s favourite things are leather boots, chew toys, being teased or pampered, and carrots. You'll see him playing games with Domi, drawing 18+ material, and being generally rambunctious (look out for that notorious Shiba scream!).

Lulu

"If you're sad and all alone, there's a place you can call home" - My Café

Lulu is a Sun Bear who dedicates her life to making others happy. Her favourite thing to do is give people gifts, and she does so often. She's very creative and spends her time doing crafts or making homes for animals. Her life in the forest makes it easy for her to find materials, including wood, which she chops herself.

The second thing she loves most is relaxing. Lulu is jealous of bears that hibernate and wishes she could hibernate too! For this reason, she works part-time at "My Café", a little café in the city. The café allows her to save money to store food for a big hibernation, but it also helps her realize her love for hospitality. She doesn't make a very good tasting coffee, but it looks great, and her smile makes the order worth it.

If you're ever feeling down, a bear hug from Lulu is the perfect fix!

Brown

Half angel, half asleep. Brown loves nothing more than snuggling up with a good plushie and going unconscious. You might find yourself constantly questioning whether he's awake or not, even when he's speaking to you.

Brown's heart shaped halo is a bright, pastel pink. Supposedly the halo can change shape or color depending on his mood. If this is true, it's safe to say either Brown's always in the same mood, or he's too tired to be in a different one.

There are many plushies in Brown's collection (all of which are on his bed), but his favourite is "Spit" the big bulbous frog. As a duo, Spit pulls all the weight, which is questionable as he's an inanimate object.

You're probably thinking it must be difficult for Brown to be social. It is. He does have friends though, and can be an enjoyable, soothing presence. The best activity you can do with Brown is one that requires little effort and a nap afterward.

Creech

A mesmerizing "sparkle dog" dragon hybrid thing. This creature is simply a Creech.

Creech has a few defining features, most notably his light up body. This is actually his bodily fluids (blood, mucus, saliva, etc.) reacting to sound like a wave form. When inactive, they appear as varying translucent colours with an iridescent sheen.

These fluids are more than just a light show though. Creech's body is filled with a toxin that has a specific soothing element on contact. A slight buzzing sensation coupled with with the euphoric release of a massage often leaves whoever touched it craving more. The lights exist as a tantalizing angler strategy for luring prey into a trap they don't want to escape.

Despite the rotting situation going on in the back, Creech is very much alive. He has a ton of energy and gets very excited by the things he enjoys. He loves music, dancing, dark spaces, and the uncanny. As long as you're careful, Creech is a fun party.
